As the founder of 3D Sports Physical Therapy, Katie Kennedy, DPT, brings over 21 years’ experience in orthopedics, manual therapy, corrective exercise, and strength training. She provides a thorough evaluation of your entire “kinetic chain” to find the root cause of your difficulty as well as treat your pain.

Dr. Kennedy is one of the only practitioners who utilizes her trained hands not only to mobilize stiff joints, but also to facilitate re-awakening of dormant weak muscles and truly incorporates them into your functional movement patterns. She will tap into your strengths to help the struggling body part back to health. This way, you will get better and STAY better. Your session with Dr. Kennedy will be 60 minutes, one-on-one, always taking into account your requests.

Katie’s Background
Injuries in gymnastics and ashtanga yoga led to Katie’s interest in the varied sport of triathlon. However, she found that despite the variety with three sports, they all still mostly involve movements in one dimension (1D) of motion. Noticing the epidemic of weakness in her patients in the other 2 planes of motion, she incorporates all 3 directions (3D) in her manual therapy, movement and strength retraining.

Mid-career, Dr. Kennedy started the physical therapy department on the original Facebook campus in Menlo Park, CA. Current contacts are helping her develop a biofeedback and training tool for hypermobility and Scoliosis of the spine.

Her 30 years of yoga practice, along with a growing knowledge from her career experience, motivated the creation of PNF PiYoga.
